Research Spotlight - Ninon Sutton

Ninon Sutton's research interests are in corporate finance and, in particular, mergers and acquisitions. Her work has been published in several journals including the Journal of Financial Research, Financial Management, Financial Analysts Journal, and the Journal of Business, among others.

Sutton is currently investigating the connection between acquisition activity, one of the main motivations for going public, and IPO long-run performance. The research provides evidence that newly-public firms that acquire perform poorly in the long-run. She is also examining the changes in premiums paid to U.S. target firms in cross-border and domestic acquisitions over time and the factors that explain these changes.
