College of Education Professor recognized as ‘Educational Researcher of the Year’ at state research conference

TAMPA, Fla. (November 29, 2017) — College of Education professor Eun Sook Kim, PhD, was recognized this month for her achievements in educational research with the Florida Educational Research Association’s (FERA) Educational Researcher of the Year Award.

The Educational Researcher of the Year Award recognizes persons who have made recent outstanding and sustained contributions to educational research. Dr. Kim was recognized during FERA’s annual in November.

Dr. Kim’s research interests include research methodology and psychometrics including structural equation modeling, multilevel modeling, latent class analysis, and factor mixture modeling. She has recently focused on factor mixture approach to testing measurement invariance particularly with multilevel data and with a large number of groups. She has been involved in research groups studying propensity score analysis, multilevel confirmatory factor analysis, Bayesian estimation, and robust ANOVA in collaboration with faculty and graduate students.

The Florida Educational Research Association is a professional association that promotes the investigation, research, and discussion of educational problems and issues impacting the state of Florida. The organization is an affiliated member of the American Educational Research Association through the Consortium of State and Regional Educational Research Associations.
