The English Language Program (ELP) is an Intensive English Program (IEP) housed within the Provost's Office at the University of South Florida. ELP provides English study programs and courses for INTO USF international students, as well as courses for international teaching assistants and other special groups needing English language instruction.Organizational Chart
The following are descriptions of each administrative position within the ELP.
The INTO USF Academic Director has oversight and responsibility for the operations of the academic programs aligned with the INTO USF Center. This includes, but is not limited to, academic and operational oversight of:
• USF English Language Program
• USF Undergraduate and Graduate Pathway Programs
• Tutoring and learning services
• CEA Accreditation
• Faculty encompassing senior instructors, adjuncts and PhD TAs and MA interns
• Academic advisers
Associate Director for Faculty Affairs
The Associate Director for Faculty Affairs is a faculty administrator whose primary responsibility is to manage faculty affairs for the English Language Program to include oversight of faculty searches, faculty instructional and committee assignments, faculty development, new faculty orientation, faculty annual performance review processes and faculty policies. The Associate Director serves as the direct supervisor for ELP Faculty Coordinators and Senior Instructors (Instructor I, II, III) and works collaboratively to manage and support the work of all faculty. This position meets regularly with the ELP Director to discuss updates on the planning, goals and management of faculty affairs issues and may be asked to assist or stand in for the Director at events as needed. The Associate Director is a member of the ELP Administrative Team.
The Assistant Director for Program Management is a faculty administrator whose primary responsibility is to manage day-to-day operations and academic reporting for programs and courses offered by the English Language Program. This position ensures that the following processes in the ELP are up-to-date and running efficiently: placement testing, course registrations, academic orientation, student advising, attendance and academic probation tracking, midterm and final grade entries, course evaluations, program policies, the student handbook, and student awards. This position serves as the direct supervisor for ELP Academic Advisors and works collaboratively with advisors as a team to support student success. This position meets regularly with the ELP Director to discuss updates on the planning, goals and management of student and program issues and may be asked to assist or stand in for the Director at events as needed. The Assistant Director is a member of the ELP Administrative Team.
The Faculty Coordinators are faculty administrators who serve as the direct supervisor for an assigned group of adjunct faculty and Ph.D. teaching assistants in the English Language Program (ELP) at the University of South Florida (USF). Faculty Coordinators are responsible for planning faculty mentoring and professional development activities in the ELP and they are available to coach and support the work of all faculty. This position meets regularly with other Faculty Coordinators and their supervisor, the ELP Associate Director for Faculty Affairs, to discuss updates on planning, goals, faculty development and faculty support. Faculty Coordinators are members of the ELP Administrative Team.
Curriculum and Instruction Coordinator
The Curriculum & Instruction Coordinators are faculty administrators whose primary responsibility is to manage the development and review of ELP curriculum and assessments of student learning outcomes. Curriculum & Instruction Coordinators are responsible for maintaining course materials, designing new courses, ensuring the curriculum is aligned across levels, and curriculum/assessment practices are regularly reviewed. This position provides on-going curriculum support and training for faculty. Curriculum & Instruction Coordinators meet regularly with the ELP Director to discuss updates on the planning, goals and management of the curriculum. Curriculum & Instruction Coordinators are members of the ELP Administrative Team.
The Academic Advisor in the English Language Program (ELP) serves as the primary contact point for students in the Academic English and other Short-term/Special Programs offered by INTO USF. The Academic Advisor provides advising support to international students throughout the academic year on issues related to academic, personal and professional success.
Academic Program Specialist
The Academic Program Specialist is a USF staff support position that provides administrative support for the English Language Program (ELP) at INTO USF at the program and administrative team level. This position is in charge of managing and updating academic information in program database records. This role is also assist with processing academic records, assigning classroom space, tracking program enrollment, and providing general academic support as needed. The position works in collaboration with ELP administrators and is a member of the ELP Administrative Team.
