Welcome to the University of South Florida!

Navigating the college experience away from home is daunting to most students, and for our international students, this task can seem overwhelming at times. Janna and Brian are here to help new international students during the first days on campus, and beyond, as a member of the Tampa Bay, St. Petersburg, or Sarasota-Manatee area.

Whether its obtaining housing and food, or exploring a local museum, theater or art gallery – Tampa Bay has so much to offer! Tampa was named one of the five most diverse, integrated urban areas by the U.S. Census Bureau because of its multiculturalism. From its diverse music scene to the high-tech opportunities, Tampa is ranked by Forbes Magazine as one of the best cities in the nation for business and careers. Explore the Living in Tampa Bay section for valuable information on navigating this amazing area, living off campus, transportation options, local weather, and more.

Another important part of student life is being involved on campus. USF and USF World offer a variety of activities that allow students to build friendships and become familiar with the Tampa Bay area.

The International Student Services and Global Student Hub locations have plenty of ways for international students to be involved in campus life, whether it be through volunteering as a student ambassador, sharing your culture over coffee, or gaining valuable leadership skills, there are opportunities for everyone through USF World.

Furthermore, USF student interest groups provide a fun way to practice English while pursuing other ventures outside of classes and work. USF also offers many clubs, intramural sports and volunteer opportunities via BullsConnect. With more than 600 student organizations, including language, academic, religious, service, special interest, recreation and multicultural groups, there is something for everyone at USF.
