Get Yourself Tested (GYT)
free sti testing for registered students - spring 2024
Monday, March 25 through Friday, March 29, 2024
10am to 4pm daily. shwc multipurpose room
Testing for Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Syphilis, and HIV by lab apointment.
Get Tested, Stay Protected because Testing isn't just for academics.
During the week of GYT, students can consult with a medical provider and receive free laboratory testing. These services are by appointment only. Students will walk in to SHWC Multipurpose room for same-day consultations. Lab appointments can be scheduled for same day or another day. Lab testing is through small samples of blood and urine. Results will be communicated within 10 days.
- Positive Results - patient will be called to schedule a follow-up appointment.
- Negative Results - patient will receive lab results in MyChart secure portal.
Patients are reminded to eat and hydrate before their lab appointment, but not to
urinate the hour before their laboratory apopintment.
Get Yourself Tested cannot be scheduled by telephone or online request. Students must
schedule in person at Student Health & Wellness Center monday - friday, March 25 -
29, 10am - 4pm. Registered Students only!
Sexual Health Services are offered outside of Get Yourself Tested Events by self-pay student rates or insurance billing (as directed by student patient).
Take care of yourself by scheduling a sexual health consultation with labs for Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI). The consultation is at no out of pocket cost. The laboratory fees are at low student rates. Speak with your medical provider about the importance of labs and have the cost calculated for you. Your health is worth it!
STI Testing can be offered by billing insurance or self-paying the student rates. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 813.445.4976 or 813.974.2331. Participants should not eat or drink for the hour prior to the appointment. Registered students only please!

Getting yourself tested for sexually transmitted infections (also known as STDs) is a basic part of staying healthy. Student Health Services sponsors FREE Get Yourself Tested events periodically, by appointment, for gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, and HIV for registered students. Outside of these events, we offer testing at student rates.

If you need testing before or after our annual events, Student Health Services provides screening for all major STDs and offers HPV vaccinations for nominal fees.
Local community partners offer STI testing on campus or just off campus. Please contact the partners below for additional information and scheduling.
