Administrative Advisory Council Members
The Administrative Advisory Council (AAC) serves all USF administrative employees. Our main function is to consider and make recommendations to the appropriate authorities on matters of interest to the University community.

Melissa Armstrong is an Assistant Director of Advancement Communications & Marketing within the Advancement division. She has been with USF since April 2013 and is a proud 3 time Bull. Melissa’s goal as a Council representative is to represent the Advancement division's employee interests and goals and continue to have meaningful conversations with her peers about policy and updates at USF.

Krystal Baehr is the Enrollment Services Team Administrator within the College of Education Graduate Support Office. She serves as the coordinator of the Graduate Support Office within the College of Education. She has been with USF since September 2008. Krystal’s goal as a Council representative is to help be a resource for her constituents and to strengthen the presence of administrative employees at USF.

Glenn Beckmann is the Communications Manager for the Global and National Security Institute (GNSI), which is part of the University-Community Partnerships program. GNSI drives USF's strategic focus on global and national security. Glenn joined USF in October 2021. His goal as a Council representative is to be a valuable resource for his constituents, connecting them with the AAC and other university-related issues.

Devin Black is a Senior Product Owner in the IT department, responsible for managing the product roadmap for the Archivum applications used by faculty and staff. He graduated from USF in 2015 and is a lifetime member of the Alumni Association. He became a USF staff member in September 2021. Devin's goal as a Council representative is to support USF's mission while also representing his constituents on matters of interest to ensure USF remains an institution that fosters growth and opportunity for all.

Abigail Bradley-Tyler is the Assistant Director for Student Involvement within the Department of Student Life and Engagement at the USF St. Petersburg campus. She strives to get students involved on campus and promote school spirit. Abigail has been with USFSP since June 2018. Abigail’s goal as a Council representative is to help be a resource for her constituents while also relaying information both to and from the Council.

Kimberly Brown is a Paralegal and Contract Administrator at the USF College of Nursing. She acts as a legal liaison to clinical partners in obtaining contracts related to student educational agreements. Kimberly has been with USF since September 1990. As a Council representative, her objective is to encourage faculty, staff, and student constituents to bring forth diversity, inclusion, and equity-related concerns for review and addressal within AAC and university leadership teams. Additionally, Kimberly is eager to continue her service on the AAC Annual Breakfast Planning Committee.

Jessie Burgess, MBA, MS serves as the Department Administrator for the Office of the Dean at USF Health, with current assignments as Administrative Officer for the USF Health Office of Military Medical Innovation & Research (OMMIR), Chief Operating Officer for the USF Health Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) Center, and Administrator for the USF Health fMRI Research Core Facility.
In her OMMIR role, Jessie functions as the office’s chief operational strategist and senior administrator, bridging research, strategy, and external partnerships with the Department of Defense (DoD) and other stakeholders. She guides mission-critical initiatives that align operational delivery with military medical research priorities, leveraging more than a decade of experience in strategic operations, research administration, healthcare leadership, and complex contract negotiation.
As COO for the HBOT Center, Jessie oversees all operational aspects of a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to advancing hyperbaric oxygen therapy as an alternative therapeutic intervention for veterans with traumatic brain injury (TBI). She manages strategic planning, compliance, budget oversight, and partnership development to ensure the success of FDA-regulated clinical trials and research initiatives.
As Administrator for the fMRI Research Core, she leads operations for a specialized neuroimaging center supporting advanced research and clinical studies. Her responsibilities include resource management, scheduling, compliance, and strategic growth initiatives to expand USF’s imaging research capabilities.
Jessie joined USF 11 years, and has been an active AAC member for 7 years, serving in multiple leadership and membership roles, including Membership & Development Chair, Vice President, and President. As Immediate Past President, she is committed to increasing AAC visibility and participation, strengthening Foundation support for council initiatives, advocating for administrative professional development, ensuring administrative staff have a voice in USF systemwide strategic initiatives.

Dr. Katherine Butterfield is the Academic Services Administrator within Muma College of Business. She serves as the Program Coordinator for the UGS Corporate Mentor Program. She has been with USF since 2019. Danielle Castro is an Academic Services Coordinator within the Department of Medical Education for the Morsani College of Medicine. She serves as the Didactic (Year 1) Coordinator for the Physician Assistant Program and is a current Doctoral candidate (Ed.D. in Educational Program Development, Educational Innovation). She has been with USF since March 2019. Throughout her journey, she has upheld a strong commitment to academic excellence, advocating for policies and initiatives that promote inclusivity and equity. Danielle's goal as a Council representative is to work diligently to ensure that every voice is heard, and every perspective is valued. She will also help be a resource for her constituents, to provide and relay information both to and from the Council.

As Director of Facilities Management, Diana is dedicated to overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Judy Genshaft Honors College building and ensuring its smooth functioning. Prior to her current role, Diana served as assistant director of property management for USF Health. During her tenure, she expertly managed over two million square feet of educational, clinical, ambulatory, and office space. Her responsibilities encompassed diverse areas, such as project management, budgeting, negotiations, staff and vendor management, construction planning and execution, and providing valuable advice to leadership.
With a rich background as a real estate professional in the Tampa, Florida area for 15 years, Diana brings extensive experience and knowledge to her current position. Holding a Florida Real Estate Broker's license, a Florida Real Estate Sales Associate's license, various professional certifications, and being a member of the National Association of Realtors, she possesses a deep understanding of both commercial and residential transactions.
Beyond her professional achievements, Diana is passionate about giving back to her community. She actively participates in service activities, such as feeding Tampa's homeless and assisting underprivileged children. Additionally, she finds joy in spending quality time with her family and two dogs. Hosting events at her home is one of her favorite ways to bring people together. When she's not working or engaging in community service, you can find Diana cheering for the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Tampa Bay Bucs. A successful workday often concludes with her enjoying the drive home, accompanied by open car windows and the radio playing loudly.

Maggie's goal as a Council representative is to advocate for the needs of administrative staff while creating a collaborative environment that enhances the workplace for her constituents.

Kathy Gonzalez is a Sr. Product Owner within the IT department, responsible for managing the Archivum applications for students. She serves as the bridge between business stakeholders and development teams by translating strategic goals into clear product requirements and ensuring that delivered solutions meet both customer needs and organizational objectives. She has been with USF since November 2022. Kathy's goal as a Council representative is to listen, learn, and contribute thoughtfully to USF’s mission. She is also eager to represent the concerns and insights of IT and other operational units, ensuring that we continue to align technical support with the evolving needs of students, faculty, and administration.

Christina Haynes, MBA, is the Assistant Director of Budgets & Analysis in the Finance & Accounting Department (UMSA) at the Morsani College of Medicine. Previously, she managed the finance team in the Chairman’s Office within the Department of Internal Medicine. She has held various roles in Internal Medicine, including in clinical operations and the fellowship program. Christina has been with USF since December 2015 and is a proud two-time graduate of the USF Muma College of Business.
This is Christina's second term on the Administrative Advisory Council, and she is dedicated to advocating for USF’s administrative employees and is honored to represent her constituents. She also serves on the University Conduct Board (UCB). Go Bulls!

Braedon Lynn is the Marketing Coordinator within the Department of Recreation & Wellness underneath the Office of Student Success. He serves as a graphic designer, public relations coordinator, web-development, photo/video needs for Recreation & Wellness, and much more. He graduated from USF in 2019, and has been working with USF since 2021. Braedon’s goal as a Council representative is to be a guiding resource among his constituents, sharing information, updates, and news among the departments and units around USF, encouraging growth and development of new connections and relationships.

Dominika McLean is the Assistant Director of Donor Relations and Stewardship. She is responsible for overseeing the pledge reminder program, conducting stewardship support meetings for the University Advancement staff, and assisting with donor-centered activities and special events. She has been with USF in March 2021. Dominika’s goal as a Council representative is to advocate for the interests and goals of the Advancement division's employees, actively engage and learn from the USF community members, and participate in initiatives that positively impact the broader university community.

Lisa Patterson is the office manager within the Department of Internal Medicine. She serves as the liaison within hospital medicine and acts as the administrative coordinator within hospital medicine. She also oversees daily operational functions within her role. She has been with USF since August 9, 2010. She is an alumna of USF. Lisa's goal as a Council representative is to promote effective communication, facilitate interdepartmental collaboration, and pursue new ideas to improve the university's administrative efficiency and student experience.

Arias Pitts is the Assistant Director of Personal and Professional Development in the College of Pharmacy, Office of Student Affairs. She first joined USF in April 2018 as an advisor, later transitioning to her current position where she manages the early referral system, student orientation, and professionalism concerns for pharmacy students. As a Council representative, Arias is dedicated to serving as a resource for her constituents by facilitating the flow of information to and from the Council. Most importantly, Arias strives to make a meaningful difference at USF.

Her goal as a Council representative is to advocate for administrative employees, encourage collaboration across departments, and strengthen USF’s community connections by ensuring staff perspectives are heard and valued.

Melanie Salarbux is the Human Resource Business Partner II within the Central Human Resources. She serves as the human resources representative for the Embedded Services - Pod #2: Academic on the USF St. Petersburg campus. She has been with USF since April 2022. Melanie's goal as a Council representative is to as a valuable resource for her constituents, connecting them with the AAC and other university-related issues.

Jen is the Web Content Administrator for the College of Arts and Sciences. In addition to managing all CAS websites, Jen serves as the lead Content Manager for CAS, training all new CMS users and hosting monthly workshops and trainings. She has been with USF since March 2020. Jen’s goal as a Council representative is to be a strong advocate for CAS at the University level.

Nicholas Stephens serves as the Operations Manager at USF Health Pharmacy Plus within the USF College of Pharmacy, a position he has held since July 2014. As a Council representative, Nicholas is dedicated to providing strategic leadership, advocating for his colleagues, and ensuring that the voices of USF Health employees are represented in key university decisions. He is committed to strengthening communication across the organization, fostering collaboration, and driving engagement by connecting employees with important initiatives and developments. Nicholas views his role as an opportunity to help shape a more informed, connected, and forward thinking USF Health community.

Krystal Sullivan has served as the Director of Environmental Health & Safety at the University of South Florida since December 2023. In her role, she works across campuses to lead and develop EH&S programs, strengthen compliance, and improve processes. She has experience in developing strategies, building consensus, and supporting changes that enhance operations and meet university goals. She looks forward to applying this experience to contribute to process improvements and help navigate complex challenges with a strategic, solutions-focused mindset. As a member of the Administrative Advisory Council, she is committed to supporting initiatives that benefit administration employees and strengthen the campus community.

Greg Wance is the Assistant Program Director for Academic Advising Operations within Undergraduate Studies. He has been working at USF since January 2014, starting as an Academic Advisor in the College of Nursing for over 9 years. He then was an Academic Services Administrator within the Department of Child and Family Studies in the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences where he served as the administrative support role for the graduate programs in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy for 2 years. Greg's goal as an AAC representative is to help be a resource for his constituents, to represent his area’s needs, and to provide and relay information both to and from the Council.

Thomas “Tom” Woolf is a content editor/writer in University Communications & Marketing. Tom serves as a contributor for the president's written communications and speeches, provides written communications for internal and external audiences, maintains style/grammar guide, and assists with editing of news releases and other communications for his department and others across the university. Tom has been with USF since July 2017. Tom’s goal as a Council representative is to share constituents' concerns with the council, facilitate flow of information from the council to colleagues, engage with and learn from more members of the diverse USF community, and contribute more broadly to the university.
