Patricia DiCarlo, '93

Patricia DiCarlo is the Executive Producer of CNN’s investigative unit and leads a team of award-winning journalists on longform, investigative, and documentary reporting for all the network’s platforms.

She previously worked as the Executive Producer of The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, produced for The Oprah Winfrey Show, and was Executive Producer at WTTG-TV in Washington, DC. Patricia got her start in Tampa working as a producer at local stations WTVT and WFLA. Patricia has been honored with dozens of awards over her career, including Peabody Awards, Emmys and Edward R. Murrow Awards. Her most recent big project was as Executive Producer of CNN’s flagship two hour documentary about January 6th, which was honored with the 2021 RTCA David Bloom Award. Additionally, she was honored with a 2021 Emmy for leading an investigation into the Minneapolis Police Department as part of CNN’s coverage of the death of George Floyd. Patricia grew up in Tampa and considers herself to be a lifelong USF Bull – all five of her siblings attended USF as well. Patricia’s father, who was a neurologist was on the faculty of USF Medical Department and her mother is a past president of the USF Parent’s Association.
