BIOGRAPHY
Huma is a quantitative social scientist with 10+ years of experience in conducting end-to-end research studies and managing research projects in academic and applied settings. She completed her Ph.D. in Media Communication from the University of Delaware and her Postdoctoral Research Fellowship from the University of Pennsylvania. She studies the role of new media and technology in political and health contexts, using a variety of methods, including surveys, experiments, content analyses, and computational tools.
Huma has worked with leading NGOs and IGOs as well as grassroots organizations on development issues, such as strengthening democracy, girl-child education, and health equity. Her professional experience drives her research interests in political and health disparities, as well as interventions to empower underserved communities through communication-focused solutions.
