Biography
Camille Ruiz Mangual is a PhD student in the Department of Communication at the University of South Florida. Her research is situated at the intersection of Feminist Media Studies, Critical Cultural Studies, and Latina/o/x Studies. She focuses on the representation and construction of Latina/o/x identity in media such as television, film, and social media. Camille is a graduate of the University of Central Florida with Bachelor of Arts in English and of the University of South Florida with a Master of Arts in Communication.
In addition to her work in the Department of Communication, Camille works with the USF College of Public Health’s Salud Latina initiative. Salud Latina provides credible, science-based public health messages to Spanish-speaking audiences and combats misinformation in Spanish via webinars, social media, and research.
