biography

Kasima Ali (M.A. Florida Atlantic University, M.A. University of Central Florida, M. Ed /Ed. S University of Florida) is a first-year Ph.D. student in the Communication Department. She has spent the past four years working for a State College as both an Adjunct Professor and an Academic Advisor and is thrilled to begin her doctoral pursuits.

Kasima's current research is focused on the important role communication plays within the realm of counseling in the South Asian community, Asian American Community, and the Public School system. One of her most recent areas of research is based on the correlation between the pandemic and the need for mental health services within the Asian American community and the taboos associated with the community and help received by an individual's close support system.
