Ancient Studies Center
The Ancient Studies Center was established in 2008 to provide enrichment opportunities for students of history and related disciplines engaged in the study of the ancient Mediterranean world. The ASC aims to encourage the study of ancient Mediterranean history, Classical languages and literature, Greek / Roman / Mediterranean archaeology, and other related fields. Center for Food and Wine History
The Center for Food and Wine History is a multidisciplinary research cluster at University of South Florida, dedicated to the study of global foodways from antiquity to the present. It promotes scholarship on the dietary and drinking habits and culinary practices of past societies. It also fosters research on the agricultural and industrial production of food, wine, and other beverages across time and place. Through collaborative humanistic, social scientific, and scientific inquiry, our affiliates provide wide-ranging political, economic, social, and cultural perspectives on the history of food and drink. The Humanities Institute at the University of South Florida (USF) is an interdisciplinary research center that aims to address fundamental and longstanding questions about the human condition through the examination of the complex dynamic between race, gender, socioeconomic status, religion, ethnicity, sexual identity, age, and other factors. The Humanities Institute supports and encourages collaboration, engaged scholarship, and intellectual conversation among scholars at USF and in the community. The Institute for Digital Exploration (IDEx) at the University of South Florida helps us to examine the world in new ways, to preserve our cultural heritage for future generations, and ask new questions in our quest for new knowledge. Institute on Russia
The mission of the USF Institute on Russia is to advance knowledge and understanding of Russia in a global and historical context. The Institute’s current focus is broad, and includes politics and history, business and trade, science and medicine, as well as culture, sports and the arts. An improved understanding of Russia is critical for our democracy and for global security. The USF Institute on Russia seeks to educate students and the public not only about Russia, but about various points of US-Russian conflict and cooperation.
