Welcoming Dr. Madeline Martin-Seaver
In Fall, 2022, we welcome Dr. Madeline Martin-Seaver to the ranks of our faculty as
Assistant Professor. Madeline Martin-Seaver received her PhD from the University
of Oklahoma in 2018. Her research is at the intersection of ethics and aesthetics,
with special interest in ways embodiment can make a positive contribution to moral
life. Her current projects are on respectability politics, perfume, and disgust as
a moral emotion. She has additional interests in comparative ethics (especially classical
Chinese philosophy), ancient Greek philosophy, and metaphor. Prior to joining USF,
she was Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow in Aesthetics at Auburn University and Visiting
Assistant Professor at Elon University.
