Public Management and Leadership Development

Knowing what works makes your organization work well

Advocating for those you represent is one facet of being a leader in the public sector. Understanding how to manage and leverage your talent is the key to maximizing the effect of your initiatives.

We identify and evaluate best practices toward effective leadership and management. Our strength, however, is demonstrating how these best practices actually apply to your organization and how to incorporate them into your strategies.

Empowering citizens to become community leaders

Pasco County, FL saw opportunity to grow the communities of Lacoochee-Trilby-Trilacoochee (LTT). Working with USF School of Public Affairs faculty Dr. Robin Ersing and the Jim Walter Partnership Center, we established a leadership academy to develop a community-engaged, asset-based philosophy to build knowledge, develop skills and enhance social capacity.

Using the Building Community Capacity trailing model, LTT residents and community stakeholders are learning how to become leaders by utilizing grassroot approaches, Kingian Non-Violence, grant writing and resource leveraging, building partnerships and effective advocacy. The outcomes of the academy are consistently measured and evaluated to understand what participants gained and to gauge community impact.
