IFAAS Advanced Buried Body Workshops & Buried Body and Outdoor Homicide Workshop
The Advanced Buried Body Workshop and Buried Body & Outdoor Homicide Scenes Workshop (December 1–5, 2025) consists in 40-credit-hour, hands-on trainings hosted at USF-FORT (Austin Cary Learning Center, Gainesville) by the Florida Institute for Forensic Anthropology & Applied Science. Designed for medico-legal professionals, the workshops use human cadavers from the USF Human Donation Program to train participants in excavation, documentation, and evidence recovery in buried body, mass grave, and outdoor homicide contexts. Digitization equipment and training are provided by the USF Institute for Digital Exploration (IDEx), integrating advanced 3D and digital documentation methods into forensic fieldwork.
IDEx GIS for the Humanities Boot Camp
The GIS for the Humanities Boot Camp is a three-session workshop (10/10, 10/17, 10/24) hosted by the University of South Florida (USF) Institute for Digital Exploration and USF Libraries, with the the sponsorship of ResearchOne. Designed for students and faculty, this program provides hands-on training in digital mapping and spatial analysis (using ArcGIS Pro) to address historical, cultural, and archaeological research questions.
