Concentration Requirements (32 Credits)
Common Course Requirements - 6 credits
- LIN 3003 Language Matters
- LIT 4804 Literature as Cultural Study
Required Courses - 8 credits
- RUS 2220 Intermediate Russian I
- RUS 2221 Intermediate Russian II
Note: Students who demonstrate sufficient proficiency may be excused from RUS 2220 and RUS 2221, note, students will still have to meet the credit requirements (e.g. heritage learners).
Electives - 18 credits
- RUT 3110 19th Century Russian Literature in English
- RUS 3240 Russian Language & Culture through Film I
- RUS 3500 Russian Civilization
- RUS 3470 Overseas Study
- RUT 3111 20th Century Russian Literature in English
- RUS 4241 Russian Language & Culture through Film II
- RUS 4900 Selected Topics
- RUS 4905 Directed Study
- One course from EUH, INR or PHI dealing with Russia
Russia Combined with a second concentration (36 credits)
A student interested in a second concentration will complete the following:
- LIT 4804 Literature as Cultural Study
- LIN 3003 Language Matters
- 15 credits of Russian electives beyond the 2 level of Russian
- 15 credits from the second concentration
May choose from Applied Linguistics, Chinese, Classics, East Asian Studies, French, German, Italian and Spanish (pre-requisites may apply)
Minor (15 credits)
Language - 8 credits
- RUS 2220 Intermediate Russian I (fall)
- RUS 2221 Intermediate Russian II (spring)
Electives - 7 credits
- Select from 3000, 4000 level courses
