MFA Art Student Lisa McCarthy Exhibits Artwork at National Juried Art Exhibition

Artist and USF MFA in studio art student Lisa McCarthy was selected for the Positive/Negative 34 National Juried Art Exhibition at East Tennessee State University (ETSU).

Her piece, Outlier, exhibited January 29 through February 21 at the ETSU Slocumb Galleries in Johnson City, Tennessee.

McCarthy was one of over 150 artists who submitted entries to the exhibition, which was juried by Ann Meisinger, independent curator and educator from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

About the Artist

McCarthy is a current Master of Fine Arts candidate at the USF College of The Arts. Primarily working in painting, she also creates drawings, sculptures, and performances. She received her BFA in 2017 with honors from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts, Boston, MA.

In 1996, Lisa co-founded CommCreative, a digital and traditional marketing agency, where she was the Agency Principal until 2018. McCarthy is also founder of Factory Mark Gallery, a contemporary art gallery for emerging and re-emerging artists where 100 percent of the sales go directly to the artist.
