What is a BACB ID number?

A BACB ID number is the unique identification number assigned to you when you create an account with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, or BACB.

The BACB requires your BACB ID number to be included on the RBT Training Program Certificate of Completion. You will be asked to enter your BACB ID number when you register for the course.

Please see the RBT Credential Process section of our website for more detailed information.

I finished the course. Can USF help me find someone to complete my Initial Competency Assessment?

I completed the course but did not receive my certificate. Where is it?

Certificates of completion are issued within 7 business days of passing the final exam. This processing period is standard and applies to all users.

If more than 7 business days have passed since you successfully completed the final exam and you have not received your certificate, please contact us at talhelm@usf.edu

Please note that missing or incomplete registration information may delay certificate processing.

What should I do if I am not currently employed by an ABA agency?

If you are not currently employed by an ABA agency, you will need to identify an agency that can support the next steps in the RBT certification process.

You may need to:

  • Search for RBT positions in your local area
  • Contact hiring agencies directly
  • Confirm whether the agency hires individuals who are completing or have completed the 40-hour RBT training
  • Ask whether the agency can provide the required Initial Competency Assessment

At the end of the course, you will see a list of ABA agencies in the Tampa Bay area that partner with USF.

What can I do after I receive my RBT credential?

After you receive your RBT credential, you can work as a Registered Behavior Technician under appropriate supervision.

If you enjoy working in behavior analysis and want to continue your education, you may consider returning to USF to pursue one of our master’s programs and continue toward BCBA certification.
