EIP Written

The EIPA Written Test evaluates the interpreter’s understanding of information that is critical to performing with students in an education setting.

The test is an online multiple-choice test administered by EIPA-approved proctors at approved sites. There are 176 questions covering the following nine domains:

  1. Child Language Development
  2. Culture
  3. Education
  4. English
  5. Interpreting
  6. Linguistics
  7. Literacy and Tutoring
  8. Professionalism
  9. Technology

A time limit of four hours is enforced. The average test candidate completes the test in two and a half hours. The test fee is $250.00. Proctors are allowed to charge test takers a proctor fee. The written exam is a pass/fail test. A score of 75% or above is required to pass the test. Test candidates will be informed if they passed or failed the test at the test site.
