The USF Preschool for Creative Learning (PCL) is committed to creating classroom environments that feel home-like, aesthetically pleasing, and thoughtfully organized. Each classroom is intentionally arranged to support high-quality learning experiences, ensure respectful care of materials, and foster children’s responsibility for their environment. 

Classrooms emphasize the use of natural elements, soft lighting, and calming colors. Fluorescent lighting is minimized in favor of secondary lighting, dimmers, and floor, table, or hanging lamps to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Learning spaces are designed to support a variety of experiences, including small-group, large-group, and individual activities. Every classroom includes soft seating and a quiet space where children can choose to be alone when they need rest or reflection.
