Saurabh Hinduja will present at the 2019 IEEE Affective Computing and Intelligent Interaction Conference

Under the supervision of Assistant Professor Shaun Canavan, Saurabh Hinduja, a doctoral student in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, has been awarded a $1,500 NSF supported Student Travel Award for presenting at the Doctoral Consortium in the 2019 IEEE Affective Computing and Intelligent Interaction Conference (ACII). He will be presenting his paper titled “Mitigating the Bias in Empathy Detection.” The conference will be held at the University of Cambridge on September 3-6, 2019. According to the website, “ACII 2019 will be based around the theme of Affective Computing for ALL (AC4ALL) and will focus on inclusive technology, inclusive design principles and inclusive user interfaces which “consider the full range of human diversity with respect to ability, language, culture, gender, age and other forms of human difference.”
