Yao Liu Receives College of Engineering Outstanding Junior Research Achievement Award

Yao Liu was awarded the 2016 College of Engineering Outstanding Junior Research Achievement Award. This award recognizes scholarly accomplishments of national and international distinction, made by researchers that elevate the standing of the College. Accomplishments considered in the evaluation process include significant discovery and innovation, high impact publications, patents and technology transfer, external research awards, contributions in leadership at the national or international level, and consistent and continuous research impact and productivity.

Yao Liu's research is related to computer and network security, with an emphasis on designing and implementing defense approaches that protect emerging wireless technologies from being undermined by adversaries. Her research interest also lies in the security of cyber-physical systems, especially in power grid security. Recent papers have been accepted by ACM MobiCom'14, ACM CCS'15, ACM CCS'16, IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing (2016), IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security (2016), IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing (2015, 2016), and IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications (2016). She is a recipient of the National Science Foundation CAREER award in 2016, and she was elected a Faculty Research Fellow by Air Force Research Lab in 2015.
