Department faculty co-organized the first Florida Security Workshop

USF hosted the first Florida Security Workshop on Thursday, December 8th in the TECO Hall in the College of Education. The purpose of the workshop was to provide a regular venue for security researchers in Florida to meet and exchange the latest cybersecurity research and education activities. The workshop was co-organized by faculty members from a number Florida universities, including University of Florida, University of South Florida, University of Central Florida, Florida State University, Florida Institute of Technology, and Florida International University.

Department faculty member Simon Ou played a major role in the organization of this workshop. About 30 researchers and graduate students attended the workshop. The keynote speaker was Dr. Kevin A. Kwiat from U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory and there were five faculty speakers highlighting their research activities and accomplishments. The workshop was supported by Florida Center for Cybersecurity.
