Biography

Dr. Yao Liu is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa, FL. She received her PhD in Computer Science from North Carolina State University in 2012, and her BE in Computer Science and ME in Telecommunications from Xidian University China in 2004 and 2007, respectively. Dr. Liu's research work has appeared in premier journals and conferences including ACM Transactions on Information and Systems Security, IEEE S&P, ACM CCS, MobiCom, and IEEE INFOCOM.

Research Interests

Dr. Liu's research is related to computer and network security, with an emphasis on designing and implementing defense approaches that protect emerging wireless technologies from being undermined by adversaries. Her research interest also lies in the security of cyber-physical systems, especially in smart grid security.
