Starting in Spring

Overview

Welcome to USF!

Here at Orientation, we believe in providing a seamless transition to every student and family member who will call USF their home. The University of South Florida Glo-Bull Beginnings Orientation experience will be a hybrid format learning environment. All first- year and transfer international students admitted to USF for spring 2022 will be required to register for and complete a 4-parts of hybrid Glo-Bull Beginnings Orientation experience. The experience consists of (1)completing an Online Pre-Orientation Course via Canvas (University Learning Management System), (2) completing the academic program requirements, (3) attending an afternoon of a Live Synchronous Orientation session via Microsoft Teams Meeting on January 5, 2022, and (4) attending an in-person Orientation event at USF campus on January 7, 2022.

Be sure to continue checking your USF email, as you receive additional details to prepare you for your arrival prior to Orientation. Do not hesitate to reach out to our office by calling 813-974-3060 or emailing at myorientation@usf.edu.

Reservation Guide

step 1

Step 1

Complete Your Orientation Reservation

Tampa campus Orientation reservations are now available for Spring 2022. This process can be started on our main Reservation page. Click here now!

Step 2

Step 2

Complete Pre-Orientation Canvas Course

Upon reserving for their Glo-Bull Beginnings Virtual Orientation session, students will receive access to a Canvas course with Pre-Orientation content. This course, full of supplemental information, can be completed at the student's own pace, but we ask that students make sure to have completed all requirements by the date of their Live Synchronous Orientation session date. Failure to complete this prior to your Live Synchronous Orientation session may cause delays or challenges in your ability to register for courses.

**Pre-Orientation Canvas Course means you will be required to login to complete Orientation modules and quizzes via Canvas but can do so at your own pace and complete on your own time.  However, you must still complete the requirements prior to the day of your Live Synchronous Orientation session!

Step 3

Step 3

Complete Academic Program Requirements

This Spring, new international students (first-year and transfer) can expect to interact with their Academic Program during the following components:

  • Their College's Overview Module (Linked in the Pre-Orientation Canvas Course).
  • Their Live Synchronous Orientation Session.

Within both of these programs, students will learn the essentials of academic onboarding, as it relates to their college and program of study.  Students must monitor their USF email for messages from their respective academic program regarding any additional requirements.  These steps will ensure students are able to be registered by their respective academic advisors are prepared for the Live Synchronous Orientation session.

If you have not heard from your Academic College/Program within 15 business days of paying for your Orientation, you are encouraged to contact your academic advisor.

Step 4

Step 4

Attend Live Synchronous Orientation session on Microsoft Teams

The Glo-Bull Live Synchronous session is a half day of Orientation experience led by the USF Orientation Leaders (OLs) and staff. This program allows students to engage with a group of other incoming undergraduate international students and receive important USF information that is best delivered in a small group or discussion-based format. In order to complete the Live Synchronous Orientation session, students must have access to a computer, microphone, camera, and reliable internet connection.

*Live Synchronous Orientation Session means students will be required to login to a live Orientation session hosted virtually via the university Microsoft Teams software.  All students will need to have access to a computer, webcam, microphone, and reliable internet connection for the entire schedule of their Glo-Bull Beginnings Live Synchronous Orientation session.

Step 5

Step 5

Attend In-Person Orientation session on Friday, January 7, 2022

All undergraduate first-year and transfer international students are required to attend an in-person Orientation event on Friday, January 7, 2022 to satisfy the last step of their Orientation requirements.  Students are required to be on USF campus and be visible for the whole program starting at 9:00am and ending at 4:45pm.  This experience will include a time for students to connect with academic colleges, complete their campus business including picking up their ID card, clear holds, get a tour of the university, and more. Students will also have the opportunity to connect with new incoming students and build connections prior to the start of their first semester. Please make sure to check your USF email for more details about program location and other information.

Family and Guest Orienation Program

Families and guests of incoming USF Transfer students will be given the option to register for a supplemental Family and Guest virtual Orientation session. MYBULLSPATH PORTAL INFORMATION

What is myBullsPath?

It's a one-stop student on-boarding portal that allows you to complete tasks all in one place (like registering for orientation or applying for housing).  The portal is designed for newly admitted undergraduate students, both domestic and international, for all three USF campuses (Tampa, St.Petersburg, and Sarasota-Manatee).

How do I use it?

  1. Use your NetID and password to log into the myBullsPath portal.
  2. You will see a series of "cards".  Each card represents a task or series of tasks that you need to complete. They are color-coded so you know which to pay attention to:
    1. Green means you've completed the task.
    2. Red means you need to complete the task.
    3. Yellow means the task is in progress.
    4. Gray means you will need to complete the task in the future, but not now.
  3. Follow the steps in the portal to complete any necessary tasks.
