Starting in Spring - Transfer

Welcome

Welcome to USF!

Transfer students admitted to USF will be required to reserve and complete a three-part virtual Orientation experience.  The experience consists of (1) completing a required Pre-Orientation Canvas course (2) completing the academic program requirements for your respective academic college, and (3) attending a Live Synchronous Orientation session via Microsoft Teams.

Guide to completing your orientation requirements

step 1

STEP 1

Complete Your Orientation Reservation

Tampa campus Orientation reservations will open October 2023. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office by emailing us at myorientation@usf.edu or by calling 813-974-3060.

Step 2

Step 2

Complete Pre-Orientation Canvas Course

Students can expect to receive access to a Canvas course (University Learning Management System) with Pre-Orientation content within five to seven business days after making their reservation. The invitation to join this course will be sent to the student’s USF e-mail account. This course is full of supplemental information that can be completed at the student's own pace, but is required for students to complete all quizzes included before the date of their Live Synchronous Orientation session (see step #3 below).

Step 3

Step 3

Complete Academic Program Requirements

Transfer students must monitor their USF email for messages from their respective academic program regarding any additional requirements.  Students are required to complete requirements outlined by their academic college/program. Your college/program will also contact you with details regarding specific requirements.

step 4

Step 4

Attend Live Synchronous Orientation session on Microsoft Teams

The Live Synchronous Orientation session for Transfer students is an Orientation experience led by USF Orientation Leaders (OLs) and staff. This program allows students to engage with a group of other incoming undergraduate transfer students and receive important USF information that is best delivered in a small group or discussion-based format.  In order to complete the Live Synchronous Orientation session, students must have access to a computer, microphone, camera, and reliable internet connection. The session will take place via Microsoft Teams. We advise students to download Microsoft Teams to their computer desktop in advance of their Orientation date. Students will need to be logged into Microsoft Teams with their USF NetID and password in order to be successful. If they have trouble, they may email USF Information Technology for assistance at help@usf.edu

MYBULLSPATH PORTAL INFORMATION

What is myBullsPath?

It's a one-stop student on-boarding portal that allows students to complete tasks all in one place (like reserving Orientation or applying for housing).  The portal is designed for newly admitted undergraduate students, both domestic and international, for all three USF campuses (Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Sarasota-Manatee).

How do I use it?

Students should use their NetID and password to log into the myBullsPath portal.

Students will see a series of "cards." Each card represents a task or series of tasks that they need to complete. They are color-coded so students know which to pay attention to:

  • Green means the task is complete.
  • Red means the task needs to be completed.
  • Yellow means the task is in progress.
  • Gray means the task will need to be completed in the future, but not now.

Follow the steps in the portal to complete any necessary tasks.
