Support Measures

Student Equal Opportunity (Student EO) offers a range of supportive measures designed to help students continue to participate in university programs and activities in a safe and equitable environment. These measures are available to any student affected by discrimination, harassment, or retaliation, regardless of whether they file a formal complaint.

Common support measures include academic adjustments, adjustments to housing or class schedules, no-contact directives, access to counseling and health resources, assistance with financial aid or campus employment concerns, and referrals to other university offices for additional support.

All supportive measures are individualized, non-punitive, and designed to preserve the student's educational access and well-being.

Options

Student EO offers several options, both formal and informal, to resolve reports of discrimination and harassment.

INFORMAL OPTIONS:

Some students may only want support measures or for Student EO to conduct an educational conversation. We also offer alternative resolutions – a voluntary agreement between two parties facilitated by the Student EO office. A no-contact order is another informal option.

FORMAL OPTIONS:

Student EO offers formal investigations for students who wish to file a formal complaint. Our office can also assist students who wish to file a formal complaint with an outside agency, such as law enforcement, when a crime has occurred.
