Mission

The NROTC Program was established to develop midshipmen mentally, morally and physically and to imbue them with the highest ideals of duty, and loyalty, and with the core values of honor, courage and commitment in order to commission college graduates as naval officers who possess a basic professional background, are motivated toward careers in the naval service, and have a potential for future development in mind and character so as to assume the highest responsibilities of command, citizenship and government.

Pass in Review Color Guard

Navy option midshipmen will select to commision into one of six warfare communities during their senior year. The six warefare communities are:


1. Surface Warfare

2. Aviation

a. Naval Pilot

b. Naval Flight Officer (NFO)

3. Submarines

4. Special Warfare

5. Explosive Ordnance Disposal

Marine option midshipmen will report to Quantico, Virgina following commissioning to attend The Basic School (TBS).  Here, newly commissioned second lieutenants will train for 28 weeks and compete for their MOS, or their military occupation specialty.
