Sustainability Speaker Series

The University of South Florida Patel College Of Global Sustainability (PCGS) presents the Sustainability Speaker Series.

PCGS is pleased to continue our Speaker Series Program into the 2017 - 2018 academic year. The speaker series was established to create increased knowledge and awareness among our students about innovative sustainability practices in private and public organizations. The goal of the series is to host local, national, and international leaders to present on sustainability policies and practices. Prior speakers include: Chief Phil Lane, an indigenous leader in human and community development and founder and chairman of the Four Worlds International Institute; Panamanian researcher Dr. Guillermo Castro, president of the Latin American and Caribbean Society of Environmental History and Executive Advisory of City of Knowledge Panama; Dr. Kathy Guindon, Assistant Research Scientist for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Fish and Wildlife Research Institute; Debbie Kinder, founder and CEO of BLUE Ocean Film Festival and Conservation Summit; and Dr. Anja Geitmann, Dean of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at McGill University in Quebec. Future speakers include Jason Mickell, Manager of Water Supply at the Southwest Florida Water Management District, and Caryle Cammisa a USAID Foreign Service Officer.

Recognizing the importance of our students obtaining this valuable professional knowledge, PCGS is focused on the success of this program. This series does not only benefit PCGS students but the university as a whole by bringing in diverse speakers from across the world. Your support in the way of sponsoring our speaker series will have a profound impact on the success of our graduate students as they work to find solutions to current and future global sustainability challenges. Thank you for your support and investment in our student's education. If you are interested in sponsoring the series, please contact Kelly Gaskell at kgaskell@usf.edu
