More about the Dietitians

What is a registered dietitian (RD): A registered dietitian (or registered dietitian nutritionist) is an expert in human nutrition. Our dietitians meet one-on-one with students to discuss nutrition related lifestyle changes for the prevention and/or treatment of certain health conditions.

Who should see a dietitian? Students can be referred from another physician or self-refer. Examples of what health conditions that nutrition counseling can address include: abnormal labs values such as high cholesterol or vitamin deficiencies, weight changes, gastrointestinal concerns, diabetes, high blood pressure, disordered eating, newly diagnosed food allergies or intolerances. Students can also see a dietitian to learn about topics such as eating on a budget, creating balanced meals, and cooking tips.

How much does it cost: The initial appointment is $30 and follow-ups are $20.
