Ruth Eckerd Hall (REH) is a performing arts center that manages a main stage (2,180-seat auditorium); Murray Studio Theater (180-seat “black box”); the new Capitol Theatre in Downtown Clearwater (under renovation to be a 750-seat theater) and the Marcia P. Hoffman Performing Arts Institute. REH opened in 1983 through a collaborative community fundraising effort committed to bringing cultural opportunities to an area described in the local press as a “cultural wasteland.” The organization has evolved over the years keeping pace with its many audiences, and providing educational opportunities to the community through its various programs. REH has grown to presenting or producing about 1,000 concerts and events and reaching 750,000 individuals annually. REH’s Marcia P. Hoffman Performing Arts Institute provides over 177,000 hours of arts experiences and reaches 87,250 people annually.

Internship Description

Video Recording, Editing, and Documentary Internship: Candidates should meet the following qualifications:
• College, graduate level, or recently-graduated student
• Knowledge of intermediate level techniques in video/audio recording
• Knowledge of intermediate to advanced techniques in video editing
• Familiarity with video editing software
• Laptop with video editing software

Responsibilities: The internship will provide participant with the opportunity to use techniques from the classroom in the recording and editing of video material produced for Ruth Eckerd Hall. The internship will work with staff from the Development Department.

We request that you:
-Have your own reliable transportation with valid insurance
-Have a personal laptop with internet access at home
-Be proficient in word-processing, email and other general computer
-Be at least a Junior in college and have a 2.5 GPA or higher
-Have great customer service skills -Show initiative & ability to work independently
-Dress appropriately & professionally
-Be comfortable with email, phone & in-person communication
-Be able to work in a fast-paced environment
-Have somewhat flexible schedule to be able to work during performing arts business hours.
