Postdoctoral Research Scholar in Geometric/Combinatorial Group Theory

The Department of Mathematics & Statistics at the University of South Florida invites applications for a 12-month, full time, postdoctoral scholar position in Mathematics on our Tampa campus beginning on August 7, 2023. Salary is $50,000.

A Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely-related field is required. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Postdoctoral Fellow.

Preference will be given to candidates who have received their Ph.D. in Mathematics within the last three years and whose research area is in geometric or combinatorial group theory or related fields including arithmetic or complex dynamics.

This position carries a one-year appointment with an annual teaching load of three (3) courses per year. The contract is renewable for up to two (2) additional years depending on available funding and satisfactory performance in both research and teaching.
