Postdoctoral Research Scholar in Statistics & Data Science

The Department of Mathematics & Statistics of the University of South Florida seeks to fill a 12-month, full-time, Postdoctoral Scholar position in Statistics/Data Science to begin August 7, 2024.

A Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics with a concentration in Statistics or closely-related field required. The degree must be conferred by the appointment start date. Applicant must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Postdoctoral Scholar.

Preference will be given to candidates who have received their Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics with a concentration in Statistics within the last three years and whose research area is in data science, applications of machine learningto various sub-disciplines such as medical sciences, finance and related topics.

This position carries a teaching load of three (3) courses per year. The contract is renewable for up to two (2) additional years dependent upon available funding and satisfactory performance in both research and teaching.
