Postdoctoral Research Scholar in Cryptography/Coding or Design Theory/Finite Geometry

The Department of Mathematics & Statistics at the University of South Florida invites applications for a 12-month, full time, postdoctoral scholar position in Mathematics on our St. Petersburg campus beginning on August 7, 2024. Salary is $55,000.

A Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely-related field is required. The applicant must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Postdoctoral Fellow.

Preference will be given to candidates who have received their Ph.D. in Mathematics within the last three years and whose research area is in symmetric cryptography, coding theory, design theory, finite geometry or a related field.

This position carries a one-year appointment with an annual teaching load of three (3) courses per year. The contract is renewable for up to two (2) additional years depending on available funding and satisfactory performance in both research and teaching.
