Artist and MFA Graduate Michael Covello Joins College of New Jersey, Has Works Shown in Two States

The College of The Arts is pleased to announce that Michael Covello Odalla, artist and 2013 MFA graduate, has joined the College of New Jersey as the Department of Art and Art History's newest Assistant Professor of Art.

Covello says that he is enthusiastic to further develop the painting, drawing, and printmaking areas of the College while also focusing on art in the context of digital technologies.

He will use this opportunity to further expand his professional practice in the New York metropolitan area while maintaining his professional presence in the Southeastern United States.

The College of The Arts congratulates Michael Covello and wishes him well on this new chapter of his career!

2016 Exhibitions

Covello's 2016 exhibitions include showings in both New York and Florida.

New York

Artwork by Covello is currently being featured at the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art in New York. His thirty minute video piece The Old Pretender is a part of the exhibition CAMPSITE: Hudson Valley Artists 2016 curated by Corinna Ripps Schaming of the University Art Museum at the State University of New York at Albany.

CAMPSITE: Hudson Valley Artists 2016, inspired by the rich tradition of summer camps in the Hudson Valley area, promises to create a space of visual pleasure while encouraging playful exploration and a meaningful engagement with the larger world. The exhibition runs now through November 13.

Florida

Paintings by Covello were featured at the Boca Raton Museum of Art's All Florida Invitational. The annual exhibition showcased the works of emerging Florida artists chosen by an expert committee of internationally-recognized artists. The All Florida Invitational merged the works of the expert panel with that of their chosen artists. The exhibition concluded on September 25.
