Photo of Jason Lazarus

Artwork by Jason Lazarus, assistant professor of photography, exhibits in The High Museum of Art exhibition A Fire That No Water Could Put Out: Civil Rights Photography November 4, 2017, through May 27, 2018.

Lazarus's photograph from the permanent collection of the High Museum joins historical images and the works of both historical and contemporary photographers to reflect on the contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the year of his death, and contemporary contributions that build upon the success of the Civil Right's Movement.

Lazarus's recent activism, including that with Black Lives Matter, make his work meaningful additions to the exhibition and the permanent collection of the High Museum.
