USF and Florida Blue host inaugural forum on AI and data for healthcare. The conference brought policymakers, healthcare industry leaders, academics, and students together to share ideas and promote collaboration on using data and AI in the healthcare industry.
National Science Foundation grant will prepare USF students for cybersecurity careers. The $4.4 million highly competitive grant will help recruit and mentor cybersecurity students for in-demand, high-paying jobs at government and other public sector institutions.
The School of Information Systems and Management held an alumni-led Tableau Bootcamp for about 220 undergraduate and graduate students in the Business Analytics and Information Systems program (BAIS). The half-day workshops were held on Oct. 21 and Oct. 28. BAIS alumus Taufeeq Ahmed, who works as a data analyst at Amgen, delivered a masterclass on data visualization to help students prepare to apply for internships and full-time jobs.
Bots with feelings: Study explores deploying AI chatbots with emotions in customer service. Turns out, AI chatbots that show positive feelings — such as adding an “I am excited to do so!” or a few exclamation marks — do not necessarily translate into positive reactions or contribute to higher customer satisfaction.
