USF’s ReliaQuest Labs train new crop of cybersecurity threat hunters. The program, in its fifth and final year of a $1 million dollar partnership gift from ReliaQuest, is an intensive training lab where industry experts teach students how to detect and neutralize cyber threats.
Professor wins faculty excellence award for research on dual career couples. Sharon Segrest, a professor in the School of Information Systems and Management who is based on the St. Petersburg campus, received the Dr. Kathleen Moore Faculty Excellence Award.
USF continues to rank among the top universities for new patents. Balaji Padmanabhan, USF professor of information systems and management, teamed up with USF computer science and engineering Professor Sriram Chellappan to create a new patent that creates digital alibis.
Student Spotlight: Lorena Froze uses data analytics to help others understand financial literacy. The USF Muma College of Business business analytics and information systems major moved from Brazil to the U.S. with her family not knowing anyone. Now she will be interning at JP Morgan this summer and sees data literacy as a path toward financial literacy.
Faculty researchers in USF’s School of Information Systems and Management secure over $17 million in competitive grants. From nurturing the pipeline of high school students interested in technology careers to training health experts on leadership skills, faculty researchers are leading the charge to improve practice through research.
