Master of Arts in Teaching
The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in Foreign Language Education is a program designed for individuals who wish to become certified teachers in Foreign language at the elementary, middle, or high school level (K-12), in various Languages. The MAT can be completed in 42 credits, providing students with the ESOL Endorsement.
Master of Education Degrees
The Foreign Language Education program offers two master's degrees: an M.Ed. in Foreign Language Education and an M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction with a concentration in Secondary Education: Teaching English Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). Both degree plans require 33 credit hours.
The Foreign Language Education program offers multiple graduate certificate programs. The Professional Certificate is for students with a bachelor's degree who are considering a career as a foreign language teacher. The Culture & Content Certificate is for students with a bachelor's degree in a foreign language, or who are native speakers of a language other than English and wish to begin preparation for a teaching profession.
