Master of Arts in Teaching

The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in Foreign Language Education is a program designed for individuals who wish to become certified teachers in Foreign language at the elementary, middle, or high school level (K-12), in various Languages. The MAT can be completed in 42 credits, providing students with the ESOL Endorsement.

Master of Education Degrees

The M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction, Secondary Education with a Concentration in Foreign Language Education and The M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction with a concentration in Teaching English Speakers of Other Languages are both 33-credit hour programs. The TESOL program gives students who wish to pursue advanced study the opportunity to specialize in TESOL. The Foreign Language program allows students to select courses in their specialization.

Graduate Certificates

The Professional Certificate is for students with a bachelor's degree who are considering a career as a foreign language teacher. The Culture & Content Certificate is for students with a bachelor's degree in a foreign language, or who are native speakers of a language other than English and wish to begin preparation for a teaching profession. The ESOL Certificate is for those who already hold a bachelor's degree and teaching certification.
