FOX News 13 covered the efforts of CSE Professor Sriram Chellappan and Assistant Professor Ryan Carney, who recently created
www.mosquitodashboard.org, a global dashboard to help track disease-carrying mosquitoes. “For malaria in particular, that’s only spread by anopheles mosquitos,” said Carney. Who showed reporters a real time display of mosquito tracking data in Florida.

The dashboard integrates with three apps: iNaturalist, Global Observer, and Mosquito Alert. It provides researchers with a real time global map that displays a variety of information that can help study the mosquitos and perhaps lead to life saving preventative measures to stop the spread of contagions like the Zika virus. "It’s really the mosquito that’s the deadliest animal in the world," said Professor Carney.
