Computer Engineering (CpE) sits at the intersection of hardware and software, powering the intelligent systems that define modern technology. From AI accelerators and embedded systems to cybersecurity, robotics, and high-performance computing, computer engineers design and build the computing platforms that make today’s innovations possible. As a CpE student, you’ll develop strong skills in programming, digital logic, computer architecture, and systems thinking—preparing you to engineer solutions where hardware and software must work seamlessly together.

Computer Engineering is one of the most versatile and in-demand engineering disciplines, offering strong career stability and competitive compensation. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, computer hardware engineers, a core career path for computer engineers,  had a median annual wage of about $155,000 in 2024, with top earners exceeding $220,000. The broader computing and IT field also commands strong pay, with median salaries well above the national average, often around $105,000 or more for many computing roles. Employment growth in these areas remains robust over the next decade.
