USF celebrates Homecoming Week Oct. 31-Nov. 6

TAMPA, Fla. (Oct. 28, 2021) — The University of South Florida invites the Tampa Bay area community to join students, alumni, faculty and staff as the university celebrates its Bull pride during Homecoming Week, Oct. 31-Nov. 6.  The week features dozens of events happening in-person across all campuses, including a concert, carnival, talent show, parade and the USF football game on Saturday at Raymond James Stadium. 

Homecoming is one of USF's oldest traditions, dating back to 1964, one year after the first graduating class.

Key Homecoming events scheduled include: 

Monday, Nov. 1, 6:30 p.m.: Kickoff & Stampede Comedy Show, Tampa campus -- National Pan-Hellenic Council Plaza Lawn (to the right of the USF Post Office and behind the USF Credit Union). Start the celebration with one of USF's most significant traditions by getting the chance to hang out with Rocky, watch the USF cheerleaders, grab promotional items, meet USF's leadership, and be immersed in Homecoming spirit. T. Murph, standup comedian and actor currently appearing in Hulu’s comedy series “Woke”, will entertain the audience at this free and open-to-the-public event. No advance tickets are required.

Tuesday, Nov. 2, 4:30 p.m.: 8th Annual Bulls N Biz Homecoming Event, Sarasota-Manatee campus -- This in-person networking event connects businesses with students and alumni who are interested in job opportunities and internships. There will be light refreshments, games and door prizes.

Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2:30 p.m.: Annual Cardboard Boat Race, St. Petersburg campus -- by the bay/boathouse. Turn out to watch USF teams compete in this fun race to be the Best Sink or First Place winner.

Thursday, Nov. 4, 8 p.m. (doors open at 7 p.m.): Homecoming Concert, Tampa campus -- Lot 35 (on USF Genshaft Drive, next to USF Tennis Courts). The outdoor event features hip hop/R&B singer, songwriter and producer T-Pain. Tickets are $25 for the public; $10 for students; $15 for a student guest; and $20 for USF faculty, staff and alumni and can be purchased online beginning Oct. 28 from the link on the Homecoming website.

Friday, Nov. 5, 5 p.m.: Homecoming Carni-Bull, Tampa campus -- Lot 35 (on USF Genshaft Drive, next to USF Tennis Courts). The event includes carnival rides, games and a student talent showcase beginning at 8:30 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 5, 6:30 p.m.: Running of the Bulls Parade, Tampa campus. George Selvie, former USF football player and retired NFL defensive end, will serve as Grand Marshal to lead this year’s parade. Featuring floats, vehicles and walking teams, the parade begins on USF Holly Drive (near the Marshall Student Center), proceeds to USF Genshaft Drive, and ends on USF Alumni Drive near the Alumni Center.

Friday, Nov. 5, 7:30 p.m.: Immediately following the Running of the Bulls Parade, USF men’s soccer hosts Temple at Corbett Stadium on the Tampa campus.

Saturday, Nov. 6, 7:30 p.m.: USF Football vs. Houston. Tickets are available for purchase online.

The week also includes philanthropic activities for students, including a clothing drive benefiting Clothes to Kids and a canned food drive benefiting Feed-a-Bull, a campus food pantry that supports food insecure students. For a complete list of events on all campuses, visit  www.usf.edu/homecoming
