LGBTQ+ Organizations

LGBTQ+ is an inclusive acronym that represents the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans+, Queer/Questioning community. The "+" provides greater visibility and recognition to identities that are not specifically represented in the acronym. 💚= A member of the Multicultural Community

P.R.I.D.E. Alliance 💚

The purpose of P.R.I.D.E. Alliance is to educate the university community by serving as an information resource in order to dispel stereotypes often associated with sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. PRIDE strives to provide an on-campus support system through which sexual and gender minority students, and their allies, can come together to promote understanding of one another and realize their full potential.

Trans+ Student Union 💚

Trans+ Student Union is an organization at USF Tampa that provides a safe haven for all transgender and gender non-conforming people by hosting monthly support group meetings, educational presentations, and social events. Allies are welcome.

LGBT Pre-Health Alliance

The purpose of the LGBT Pre-Health Alliance is to provide a safe, educational environment for LGBT and Allied pre-health students as well as any students interested in learning about LGBT issues in healthcare. Our primary aim is to foster cultural competency among the next generation of medical practitioners with reference to the health issues faced by the LGBT population. Students of all identities and majors are invited to join.

GLBT and Allied Medical Student Association

The GLBT & Allied Medical Student Association (GLBTAMSA) is an active student organization at the USF College of Medicine, with strong support from both our administration and peers of all identities. The organization is dedicated to promoting equal political and social rights for GLBT people, breaking down prejudices concerning GLBT people that undermine patient care, and advocating for expanded inclusion of GLBT health issues in the curriculum.

Safe Home

The purpose of Safe HOME is to ensure equitable and equal opportunity for all students to have safe and affordable housing regardless of age, race, ethnicity, nationality, immigration status, religion, ability, social class, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.


oSTEM is a national professional society at focuses on empowering LGBTQIA+ students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to succeed personally, academically, and professionally. oSTEM @ South Florida seeks to do just that by providing a network of allies, mentors, and friends. All students are welcome to join! Allies are readily welcome.

No (LGBTQ+) Child Left Behind

The purpose of this organization is to provide practical and realistic knowledge to future educators and educational professionals on the lived experiences of people in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, etc. (LGBTQ+) community. Through exposure of both positive and negative educational experiences had by LGBTQ+ members in the school setting, awareness can increase about how best to support this population of students.
