LGBTQ+ Organizations
LGBTQ+ is an inclusive acronym that represents the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans+, Queer/Questioning community. The "+" provides greater visibility and recognition to identities that are not specifically represented in the acronym.
P.R.I.D.E. Alliance
P.R.I.D.E. (People Respecting Individual Diversity and Equality) is a LGBTQAA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Asexual, Allied and Plus) based organization at USF. Started in 1974, they are the oldest continuously funded gay student organization in the state of Florida. Their mission is to help build up the LGBTQA community at USF and the surrounding Tampa area by educating, advocating, and providing a safe space.
QTPOCC
Queer and Trans People of Color Collective aims to empower, advocate for, and support individuals of color who identify as: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, and/or Queer. QTPOCC accomplishes this through creating a safe space for cultivating alliances, leadership, and educational/networking opportunities.
