Active Shooter

Unfortunately, over the past 15 years, a new phrase has become engrained in our vocabulary, "active shooter". Today, I'd like to direct your attention to a resource provided by the University that can assist with our preparations for the unthinkable. Please follow the link below to access this resource.

In addition, the USF Tampa library has a video titled "Shots Fired on Campus" that is available for checkout.

I would like to encourage you to review these resources and then attend the Spring College Assembly, which will be held on April 16th in the Atrium Lobby at 1:30pm. Officer Goodman from the University Police will be in attendance and will do a short presentation on the topic of Active Shooter, along with other campus safety topics. Please take advantage of this opportunity to ask questions or voice your concerns.

I also know many of you were concerned about what to do during the last tornado emergency alert. The alert lacked specific instructions on what it means to "shelter in place". Please take a few minutes to read the shelter in place details on the USF website link below.
