Concurrent Degree with Public Health

If you are applying to the concurrent degree program sponsored jointly by the Department of Anthropology and the College of Public Health (MA/MPH or PhD/MPH), you can apply to the MPH program in the College of Public Health during your first semester. 

Concurrent degree students will be able to share 12 credit hours for MA/MPH and 13 credit hours for MA/PHD, PHD/MPH, or PHD/PHD.

PUBLIC HEALTH STUDENTS SEEKING A CONCURRENT DEGREE IN ANTHROPOLOGY

Faculty Letter of Recommendation

The application should include one letter of recommendation from a faculty member in the student’s current department. The letter should describe the student’s academic aptitude, readiness for concurrent graduate study, and demonstrated ability to succeed in graduate-level coursework and scholarly work.

Transcript 

Students should submit an unofficial transcript.

Statement of Interest

Students should submit a brief essay, not to exceed 850 words, responding to the following prompt: Please explain your interest in pursuing the concurrent degree between Anthropology and COPH. In your response, describe how the combined training will support your academic and professional goals, the value you see in completing both degrees concurrently, and the Anthropology concentration you intend to pursue.
