Susanne Gillem began her career working with students as a High School soccer coach. Already having earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Southeastern University, she returned to school to earn a Master’s of Education degree in Educational Counseling from Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Initially working several years as a High School Guidance Counselor, Susanne changed direction to begin working as an Academic Advisor in the College of Science at Southern Utah University with chemistry, geology and nursing students. Returning to her home state of Florida, she started working at USF St. Petersburg as an Academic Advisor in 2011 for pre-business and biology students. Susanne transitioned to USF Tampa as a chemistry advisor in 2019, specifically advising for Biomedical Science majors. She enjoys helping students navigate academic challenges to reach their career goals.

Ashley Sowell

Ashley Sowell was born and raised in Saint Petersburg, FL, and graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and Art History and a Master of Arts in Arts Administration. Ashley has worked with Transfer Evaluations, Academic Records and Academic Advising. She has served on the Academic Regulations Committee and coordinated campus graduation processes. She has also completed and presented research on the effects of accelerated credit on the students major selection. Ashley came to the USF in 2011 as an academic advisor on the Sarasota-Manatee campus where she advised graduate and undergraduate students. Ashley joined the Chemistry department in August 2016.  In her free time, Ashley enjoys reading, music, travel, movies and football.Ashley currently advises students in the Medical Technology, Interdisciplinary Natural Sciences, Chemistry B.S., Chemistry B.A., and Chemistry B.A. Biochemistry emphasis majors.

megan

Megan Stowe is a Chemistry advisor focusing on Biomedical Sciences and Health Professions. She has ten years experience in higher education and 15 years experience as a teacher. She holds a B.A in English from SUNY Stony Brook, an M.A. in Science Fiction and Fantasy Literature from FAU, and is a Doctoral Candidate at USF in the Department of English with a graduate certificate in Technical and Professional Writing. Megan hopes to help prepare students for careers they are passionate about and be competitive for graduate/professional school admissions. She is dedicated to student success. Go Bulls!

audra

 Audra Begg has always had a passion for education and began her career teaching elementary grades, and sixth grade math. Audra transitioned into higher education seven years ago after obtaining her Master’s of Education in College Student Personnel/Higher Education Administration from Western Carolina University. Originally from southern California, Audra has also lived in North Carolina and Hawaii. She relocated to Tampa from Charlotte, NC, where she worked at Central Piedmont Community College for five years, first as a student recruiter, and most recently as a Senior Workplace Learning Coordinator where she helped connect students to meaningful co-ops/internships related to their field of study. She highly values building rapport with students, and helping them set and accomplish their goals. She currently advises Bulls pursuing the Biomedical Sciences degree. In her spare time, Audra enjoys good food, films, literature and comedy, and quality time with my family and friends.
