The STEM Education cluster includes both STEM Ed researchers and faculty who practice innovative and engaged pedagogy in the delivery of their courses. Faculty in this cluster also manage the various department teaching labs and mentor students in the HHMI supported SEA PHAGES and SEA GENES programs and the Combined Lab. These programs are in course-based undergraduate research and are active leaning environments that are unique to the Molecular Biosciences Department. STEM Ed faculty also instruct graduate students who are enthusiastic about STEM education through discipline-focused pedagogy courses. Faculty in this cluster have won numerous teaching awards, published research or review articles in pedagogy, and also serve on various University and State committees engaged in innovations to STEM Education.
