Bio

Dr. Loseke currently works on questions about narrative productions of reality with special attention to relations between narrative, emotion, and political persuasion. Her most recent books are the 2nd edition of Methodological Thinking: Basic Principles of Social Research Design and Thinking About Social Problems: An Introduction to Constructionist Perspectives. Her manuscripts have been published in journals such as Social Problems, Social Psychology Quarterly, Sexualities, and Culture & Society. She is the 2017 President of the Society for the Study of Social Problems and also serves on the editorial boards of The Sociological Quarterly, Journal of Contemporary Ethnography, Symbolic Interaction, and Social Psychology Quarterly. She is a former President of the Society for the Study of Symbolic Interaction, editor of the Journal of Contemporary Ethnography, and a member of the Council of the American Sociological Association for the emotions section.
