Prior to that, she earned her MA in Women's and Gender Studies right here at USF! Her BA is in Sociology and LGBTQ Studies from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, where she was born and raised. Dr. Peer has published pieces in Disability Studies Quarterly, the Canadian Journal for Disability Studies, Ms. Magazine, The Feminist Wire among others. At USF, she teaches ISS 3420: Interdisciplinary Approaches to Disability Studies.

Outside of her USF duties, Dr. Peer spends a lot of time with her three young children and two aging (but still energetic!) dogs. In the summer, you can catch her at summer camps across the Midwest designed for people with disabilities and complex medical needs. During the school year, you can catch her in her home office where she boasts an aloe plant that she has kept alive for 7 years and counting!
