New appointments recognize the expertise and leadership within the college. Dean Chris Garvin announced the promotion of two new assistant deans for the College of Design, Art & Performance (CDAP): Kristina Keogh, assistant dean, student success & research, and C. Victor Fung, assistant dean, academic affairs. In these roles, they will support student success, research and academic affairs, including faculty tenure and promotion, career paths and post-tenure review.
Keogh will provide strategic leadership for the college by advancing research programs, faculty mentorship, grant management and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. She will oversee CDAP’s Academic Advising Office, respond to student grievances, student-of-concern reports, and support classroom management and centralized course scheduling.
Keogh has served in several leadership roles across the college, including acting director of the Contemporary Art Museum and assistant dean for the St. Petersburg campus. She will continue as campus dean of the Nelson Poynter Memorial Library.
Prior to joining USF in 2022, she held positions at Virginia Commonwealth University, Indiana University Bloomington and Ringling College of Art & Design. At Ringling, she held dual roles as library director and the primary Fulbright program adviser, mentoring students pursuing international research opportunities. She holds a doctorate in art history and remains active as a scholar of early modern Italian visual culture.
Fung will oversee the tenure and promotion process for CDAP, assisting tenure-track faculty toward professorship and non-tenure-earning faculty through the established career path. He will continue as director of the PhD program at the Center for Music Education Research in the School of Music, where his scholarly work focuses on world music preferences and pedagogy, music and aging, and philosophies in music education.
He currently holds positions on the Executive Committee of the Society for Research in Music Education, under the auspices of the National Association for Music Education and of the International Society for the Philosophy of Music Education. Previously, he was a board member of the International Society for Music Education, the College Music Society, and the Florida Music Education Association. He holds master's and doctoral degrees in music education and a master’s degree in educational management.
Keogh and Fung will serve on the college’s Administrative Council and other college and university committees, while working closely with Dean Garvin, school and unit directors, and fellow administrators to advance the college's and the university's priorities.
